The Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) has announced that there are no plans to remove accountants from the Australian Skilled Occupations List (SOL), after the Australian Financial Review incorrectly reported what the DIBP ‘has dropped accounting from its list of skilled occupations in demand for 2015’.
The Australian Workforce and Productivity Agency analysed accountants for the purposed of the Australian skilled migration program and concluded that this occupation should continue to be included on the SOL.
The Office of Chief Economist in the Department of Industry analyses occupations for composition of the Australian Skilled Occupations List each year. The next advice is not expected until March 2015 after extensive analysis.
